Did your Subaru's gas cap lanyard / tether / leash break? Ours did shortly after buying it... Not the end of the world but certainly annoying. And to make matters worse you can only buy the whole gas cap and lanyard assembly from the dealer!

Not satisfied with that option, my wife and I created this replacement gas cap lanyard. It's 3D printed using polyurethane and it's both stronger and more flexible than the original. 
 
This replacement lanyard has been sucessfully installed on 2006-2012 Impreza, WRX, STI, Forester, Outback and Tribeca. The Legacy changed sometime in 2010. I haven't been able to confirm yet if it also fits model years 2004-2005. If for some reason you do run into an issue, I can make you a custom lanyard specifically for your vehicle or refund your purchase.

Installation is simple, and this version eliminates the need to re-use the pin on the gas flap door. This is the version I currently use on our 2010 Impreza.
